Over the past several years, the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation has been honored with a series of awards from state, national and international organizations. These recognitions reflect not only the work of the BVEDC, but also its community partners in making the Brazos Valley an even more prosperous place to work and live.

2022 Community Economic Development Award
Texas Defense Aerospace Manufacturing Community

In 2022's Community Economic Development Awards (CEDAs), the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) honored the Texas Defense Aerospace Manufacturing Community. The BVEDC is the community partner on the project with the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station and others aiming to introduce smart manufacturing skills and technologies into the state’s ecosystem to meet the needs of the nation’s defense.

2021 Community Economic Development Award
Resiliency and Recovery

An entry submitted by the BVEDC on behalf of the entire community won in TEDC's CEDAs. The category was a special one for the 2021 edition: Resiliency and Recovery, with a focus on “programs, initiatives and efforts to promote economic resilience and/or facilitate economic recovery related to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

2020 Community Economic Development Award
FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies

For the 2020 TEDC CEDAs, the BVEDC submitted FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies’ local expansion, which earned the honor. The $120 million capital investment included a 65,000 sq. ft. gene therapy facility at the company’s Biocorridor location.

TEDC Economic Excellence Recognition
Three Consecutive Years

For 2019, 2020 and 2021, the BVEDC earned the Economic Excellence Recognition from the TEDC. The honor goes to organizations meeting a desired threshold of professionalism in the economic development industry. Less than 10 percent of TEDC's membership earned the honor each of those three years.

2018 Workforce Excellence Award
Training Skilled Trade Workers

From an entry by the BVEDC, the Blinn College District was awarded a TEDC Workforce Excellence Award in recognition of Blinn's work to meet the region’s growing demand for skilled construction trades labor.

Video Features Honored

In late 2019, the BVEDC debuted a series of feature videos showcasing the advantages to doing business and living in the Brazos Valley. The features earned honors from the International Economic Development Council and the Southern Economic Development Council.

In 2022, the International Economic Development Council honored the BVEDC for its promotion of its private investor group, Invest Brazos Valley. Collateral created by Bryan Creative Group in conjunction with the BVEDC received top honors in its category.
