Business leaders from Belgium once again journeyed to the heart of the Texas Triangle as part of a delegation exploring opportunities in the United States.
The Belgians made the short trip from Austin’s South by Southwest event to spend March 8, 2019 in Bryan/College Station and on the campus of Texas A&M University. The visitors met with a wide range of companies and organizations in order to learn about the business advantages the Brazos Valley offers and potential partnerships.
The delegation was formed by Belgium’s Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) and welcomed by Texas A&M Technology Commercialization (TTC) and the BVEDC. AWEX and TTC are charter members of the Open Worldwide Innovation Network, an association of governments, universities and trade agencies facilitating startups and technology commercialization.
In 2009, AWEX began regular trade delegation visits to Brazos County, with more than 100 companies participating in partnering meetings with the BVEDC and Texas A&M to look at market opportunities in the U.S.
