The world’s largest economic development organization has honored the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation (BVEDC) for a video project spotlighting advantages to doing business in “The Hub of the Texas Triangle.”
As announced October 15 during the International Economic Development Council’s 2020 Annual Conference, the BVEDC is the winner of a Gold Award for Multimedia/Video Promotion in IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards.
The honor is for a trio of videos created by College Station-based Texas FilmWorks in conjunction with the BVEDC. The “Brazos Valley Advantages” features highlight the prime location, talent and workforce, and quality of life the region has to offer companies and employees. The videos have been used in the BVEDC’s business development outreaches and presentations, along with marketing efforts.
“Teaming with the world-class local team at Texas FilmWorks has proven to be an invaluable boost to the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation’s efforts to increase the prosperity of our great community,” said BVEDC President/CEO Matt Prochaska. “To be recognized on a global stage is a tremendous honor for our organizations. We thank IEDC and its judges for choosing us for this award.”
Formed in 2001, IEDC is the largest organization serving economic developers, with more than 5,000 members worldwide. The Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and leaders. The IEDC 2020 Annual Conference was slated to be hosted by Dallas but was held virtually due to the pandemic.
This is the second award for this video project from a top economic development organization. In August, the BVEDC was honored with a Special Judges’ Award for Audio/Visual Impact in the Southern Economic Development Council’s 2020 Communication Awards Competition. SEDC is made up of economic development organizations in 17 states.
Texas FilmWorks and the BVEDC are in the early stages of a new video project as part of continuing efforts to promote the Brazos Valley and encourage companies to launch, grow and locate in the community.
