Matt Prochaska
As President and CEO, Matt Prochaska has led the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation since September 2017. Matt completed his certification in economic development from the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute (OU EDI) in 2021. He has a team approach to economic development and loves the Brazos Valley. He is a member of TEDC and serves on its board. He also has membership in SEDC and IEDC. Recent projects include FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies Texas and G-CON. Other projects of significance during his tenure include Advanta Seeds, CardioQuip, ICC NTA and Skywriter MD. Matt joined the BVEDC with over 25 years of experience in various leadership positions in industry and economic development. He served as a board member and chair for the Tate County Economic Development Foundation in North Mississippi from 2008 to 2014. Matt also worked with the Mississippi Community College System at Northwest Community College to enhance and support workforce development programs such as the John Deere Technology Program. In addition, he has led successful teams in acquisitions, joint ventures and launched hundreds of new products in the commercial furniture industry over the span of his career. Matt received both his Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University with an emphasis in international business development. Matt is passionate about workforce development serving on the Texas A&M University System RELLIS External Academic Advisory Council and the Workforce Solutions Brazos Valley Board. He serves on the TEES Advisory Board. He is involved in community service as a board member for Bryan Rotary and is a Paul Harris Fellow, a graduate of the BCS Chamber of Commerce Leadership Brazos Class of 2019, and he serves as a board member for the Brazos Valley Symphony Society & Orchestra. He is married to Merrilee Derrick Prochaska and has two children, Anne-Marie and Joshua.

Charles Martinez
Executive Vice President, Business Development
Chuck embraces servant leadership principles when addressing the needs of business owners and site selectors, engaging with educational institutions, government-community agencies, elected-appointed officials, and service industry professionals to achieve shared success. He joined the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation in March 2006 to prepare and lead innovation economic development strategies for stimulating Bryan/College Station as a new Texas hub for entrepreneurship. Today, Chuck oversees a business development team to support startups, commercial investors and attract domestic/international companies considering expansion or relocation to Brazos County. He is experienced in crafting economic development services, negotiating incentives, as well as marketing for business incubation, industry clusters, global trade missions, technology commercialization projects, and location analytics. Chuck brings a solid foundation in boom town environments and draws from three decades of work that shaped and advanced the Texas marketplaces of Bryan/College Station, Bexar County, San Antonio, Laredo, Beaumont and Galveston, as well as in Virginia, the City of Alexandria and Prince William County. Chuck earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Business from Lamar University, where he was also an NCAA track & field letterman and the student body vice president. He also has an MBA in International Trade from Texas A&M International University and a Master’s in Public Administration from George Mason University. Chuck is on the advisory boards of Texas A&M University’s McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship, the Bryan/College Station Sister Cities Association, Brazos Valley Worldfest, Lemonade Day Bryan/College Station, and 1 Million Cups Bryan/College Station.

Kait Jones
Coordinator, Business Outreach & Engagement
In her role, Kait leads the BVEDC’s business retention and expansion efforts, as well as coordinating the Invest Brazos Valley private investment group. She joined the staff in January 2021. Originally a New Orleans native, Kait’s family moved to McKinney, Texas in 2013. Then, in 2015, she moved to the Brazos Valley to attend Texas A&M University. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2019, Kait made the area her permanent home. Prior to joining the BVEDC, Kait worked for Aggieland Credit Union as its Community Relations Officer, having the privilege of coordinating community involvement for the credit union’s Bryan, College Station, Houston, San Antonio and Edinburg locations. In this role, she also helped facilitate the credit union’s activities with Texas A&M once the University announced Aggieland CU as its official partner. Thereafter, Kait became the Vice President of Client Services for Liere Insurance, which also employed her as a student worker while she was completing her undergraduate degree. Being the VP of Client Services gave Kait invaluable experience leading a team of workers while also spearheading strategies aimed at innovation, efficiency and overall small business growth. While working full-time and with the end-goal of serving her local community in mind, Kait completed her Masters in Finance and Economics from West Texas A&M University in December of 2020.

Steve Fullhart
Manager, Communications
Steve is responsible for getting the word out about the advantages to doing business in the Brazos Valley, along with what’s happening at the BVEDC and in our community. Since joining the organization in May 2018, he has worked on numerous announcements of major company arrivals and expansions, including CardioQuip, FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, ICC NTA, Nift and Skywriter MD. Steve also coordinates with media outlets to amplify the BVEDC's mission and the region's business successes. As part of telling the community's story, he spearheads the "In the Brazos Valley" series spotlighting company success stories, quality of life amenities and personal testimonials. He also helps coordinate BVEDC video projects with Brazos Valley-based Texas FilmWorks. They have resulted in top awards from the International Economic Development Council and the Southern Economic Development Council. One of the most honored communicators in the region’s history, Steve spent more than a decade at KBTX-TV. As an anchor, reporter and producer, he went across the region and beyond it providing information and telling stories. In 2014, he travelled to Belgium to cover a BVEDC-led business mission and the coinciding debut of a museum exhibit on the service of Texas A&M University graduates in World War II. Steve's work in Afghanistan covering Texans and Aggies serving in the war zone, also in 2014, earned him his second Lone Star Emmy Award. He also has five national Telly Awards and more than 40 honors from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters to his name, among other recognitions. Steve is on the board of the United Way of the Brazos Valley. He served as its Board Chair in 2019 and is the current Chair of its Campaign Cabinet. You can still find him behind a microphone year-round as an announcer at local sporting and community events, including for Texas A&M. Steve was part of the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Brazos Class of 2013. He is a graduate of Indiana University, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in journalism.
