BVEDC Presents at Chamber Community Briefing

The Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation took part in the 2018 Inside B/CS event put on by the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce.
BVEDC President/CEO Matt Prochaska presented at the annual community briefing, which was held Wednesday, June 27 at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. It was open to all residents, with the aim to educate residents, key personnel and management-level executives new to the Brazos Valley or with new responsibilities for their organization.
In addition to Prochaska, numerous BVEDC board members also spoke at the event:
  • Steve Aldrich, Brazos County Commissioner
  • Jeff Capps, College Station Interim City Manager
  • Clark Ealy, College Station ISD Superintendent
  • Royce Hickman, Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce Community Liaison
  • Karl Mooney, College Station Mayor
  • Andrew Nelson, Bryan Mayor
  • Christie Whitbeck, Bryan ISD Superintendent
Prochaska’s presentation focused in part on changes taking place at the BVEDC. In May, the board unanimously voted to change the name of the organization from the Research Valley Partnership. A new logo was approved unanimously by the board in June, with changes to websites and marketing materials soon to follow. The BVEDC’s mission and up-to-date trends and statistics for the region were also presented.
“We could not be more pleased to support the Chamber in today’s community briefing,” Prochaska said. “The Brazos Valley’s job outlook is bright, and we are so appreciative of the entire community’s combined efforts in making our area the best place to do business in the state.”
